DISASTER PREPARATION


Emergency preparation begins at home.  When a disaster strikes, first make sure you and your family are safe, then help your neighborhood and then help your community.  You can best do that if you, your family and your neighborhood are PREPARED!  


To be prepared, understand what the most likely type of disasters are that may impact your community:  floods, mudslides, wildfires, tsunami's, earthquakes.  Do what you can to mitigate the potential impact of these types of disasters.  Be prepared to evacuate with your pre-arranged "go bag" and be prepared to stay where you are for potentially weeks without getting help from first responders.  It is critical that you help organize your neighborhood to work together to be prepared and to respond to an emergency.  Here are some important links to help get you BETTER PREPARED:
